Medford, Oregon

There is a reason Medford, Oregon has been selected as one of the top ten places to visit, live or retire. Located just 27 miles North of the California border off I-5, Medford's population of 70,000 is midway between Portland, Oregon and San Francisco, California.

Medford, "The Center of the Rogue Valley," is Southern Oregon's largest and most diverse city. It is the industrial, medical and service center of Southern Oregon and Northern California, with The Rogue Valley International Airport providingnon-stop flights from four major airline carriers. At 1,382 feet above sea level and 100 miles east of the Pacific Ocean, Medford is protected by surrounding mountains, and the area is favored with a mild climate. With the four seasons clearly defined, the summers are warm, averaging around 94 degrees with low humidity, median winter temperatures and annual rainfall is 18-20 inches, similar to San Francisco, California.

Medford's location gives it's residents ready access to numerous recreational activities, diverse cultural attractions, historic wealth, and rich agricultural land.

People from all over the world have come to call Medford home due to the amazing natural beauty each season brings and the variety of activities this region of Southern Oregon offers. Break away from the everyday stress in a city of many relaxing enticements.

Experience world class art and culture at the Oregon Shakespeare Theater, Britt Festival or the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater. When you visit make sure to tour one of the many award-winning wineries, creameries and gourmet artisan chocolate facilities. If getting back to nature is more your style, there is a lot to choose from.

You could hike, bike, or ski, raft and fish the rivers, visit Oregon's only National Park, Crater Lake, or explore the natural wonders of Oregon Caves. You could also enjoy a day of golfing or just stroll the many beautiful parks our Valley has to offer.
